The funeral

The funeral for my friend Gail’s mother was last week, and I found it surprisingly comforting. I’ve been to some funerals that annoyed me. In one, the priest or pastor or whomever didn’t even know my aunt, and in another, the whole service was preprogrammed. But this funeral made it seem that without having to ignore the fact of death, there’s a way to live with the fact that it’s happened.

Sorry it’s been so long since I’ve written. I managed to get sick again and I’m only now pulling out of it. I never had sinus trouble until I moved to this damp state. 🙂

More in a bit…

Sorry to hear you were sick, glad to hear that you are on the mend. Good to hear that you felt that you got something out of the funeral you attended.
I attended a funeral yesterday which was very perfuctionary, I was not impressed.
Funerals can be a time of interesting lessons if done correctly.
